Local legend tells that Mark Antony imported the sand especially for Cleopatra, who would not set foot on any land that is not Egyptian.

The sand on Cleopatra Island is said to be exceptional, and different from other nearby beaches. The beach is protected by the government to prevent any sand being removed from the beach. You will have about three hours at the Cleopatra Island.

Day 2 you will discover the spectacular Pamukkale with its radiant white terraces and pools, and explore the ruins of neighbouring, Ancient Hierapolis. Pamukkale means ‘Cotton Castle’ in Turkish. It gets the name from the lovely travertines that flow down the hillside from the hot springs, leaving behind a soft white snow of calcium carbonate and bisodium carbonate. Spend the day swimming in an ancient thermal pool before returning to Marmaris.
